The Off-World Tote is a large-format, fully reversible bag constructed from chocolate-brown vegetable-tanned “Ethiopian Wyoming” cowhide and individually sourced vintage bedsheets, pillowcases, and blankets.Designed to be worn two ways, the bag can be carried with the naturally grained leather exterior exposed or reversed completely to reveal its vintage textile side.     Break-In & Feel:
    Crafted from vegetable-tanned “Ethiopian Wyoming” cowhide, the Off-World Tote has a substantial yet naturally soft hand. The leather is intentionally left with its natural grain and surface character intact. With regular use, it will soften further, develop creases, deepen in tone, and gradually form a patina unique to the way each bag is carried.

    Shape & Carry:
    Designed as a large-format tote, the oversized proportions create a relaxed, unstructured silhouette with generous space for everyday carry and travel. Rather than maintaining a rigid shape, the leather naturally collapses and drapes around its contents, becoming softer and more relaxed over time.

    Reversible Construction:
    The Off-World is fully reversible, offering two completely different expressions of the same bag. One side features chocolate-brown vegetable-tanned cowhide, while the reverse is constructed from individually sourced vintage bedsheets, pillowcases, and blankets. Each textile is different, making every bag in the edition one of a kind.

    Vintage Textiles:
    The vintage side introduces a softer, more familiar character against the leather. Because these textiles have lived previous lives, natural variations, fading, and signs of age are considered part of each bag rather than imperfections. Some of the fabrics used in the project were even part of my own childhood.

    Durability & Aging:
    The contrast between old and new materials is central to the bag. While the vintage textiles already carry their own history, the vegetable-tanned leather begins a new one with its wearer. Scratches, folds, changes in color, and surface variation will accumulate naturally, allowing the entire bag to continue evolving rather than remaining static.

    Hardware & Construction:
    Finished with dual Lampo zippers, with the leather and hardware sourced locally in New York City. Each bag is cut, constructed, and finished in New York.

    Styling & Use:
    Designed to move easily between an everyday tote, travel bag, and oversized carryall. Wear the leather side outward for a quieter, more understated appearance, or reverse it completely to expose the vintage graphics and give the bag an entirely different presence.
